New Delhi (The Hawk): In connection with the ISIS "Voice of Hind" module case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at two sites in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi and detained a highly radicalised operative. The Agency detained Basit Kalam Siddiqui in connection with a plot by the outlawed terrorist group ISIS. Investigations revealed that Siddiqui, a Varanasi resident, was actively involved in radicalising and recruiting young people for ISIS from India. The recruitments have as their goal engaging in acts of terrorist violence against the Indian State in the name of a violent jihad.
After the NIA busted the "Voice of Hind" module and detained six suspects, a redesigned internet propaganda approach was being promoted through a new online publication called "Voice of Khorasan."
The NIA seized incriminating items during its searches, including handwritten notes pertaining to the creation of IEDs and explosive ingredients, mobile phones, laptops, and pen drives. In June of last year, NIA suo motu registered the case.
